Marvin Mathews

Marvin Matthews is a very unique worship leader. He has five basic skills empowering him to effectively lead churches, conferences, workshops and concerts in his unique style: (1) he is filled with the Holy Spirit; (2) he plays keyboards extremely well; (3) he leads with heart, hands, and voice; (4) he is a first-class vocalist and (5) he can do any style of music!

He has an exuberant personality and combined with his unique vocal talent and compassionate spirit, crosses all socioeconomic and racial lines.  His enthusiasm envelops the listener, whether on a concert stage--performing with a symphony, or standing in front of a church congregation.

Family is very important to him. The spiritual life of his children has often fueled his desire to be an effective communicator. His desire is to affect change and provide a place of joy where hopelessness has prevailed. He really “sings because he is happy and he sings because he is free.”

He has nine recordings and two video presentations to his credit. As always, there’s a touch of jazz, a bit of hip-hop, some light pop and, of course, the traditional gospel music foundation upon which Christian music rests. He has made sure his projects provide something special for every listening ear while maintaining the integrity of “his call.”

God uses Marvin’s musical talent, but much more than that, God uses his heart and soul, which are the result of years of compassion and devotion. Truly, the only things greater than Marvin’s voice, is his love for Jesus, his family and the body of Christ to which he is called.
