Dave Smith is a graduate of Taylor University and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with a Doctorate of Education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  His deep passion is to challenge the Church to think strategically and critically about its mission and educational effectiveness, while engaging culture with transformative tools.

He has served at The Chapel for the past 13 years and is currently the Managing and LifeStages Pastor, giving oversight and connection to their age-specific ministries ranging from Kids Ministry to Senior Adults. A native of New Jersey, Dave is married with four children and resides in Akron, Ohio. 

Dee Brestin is an internationally recognized speaker whose goal is to make the Word of God clear to today’s woman. She has spent the past 25 years writing, speaking, encouraging, and challenging women of all ages how to discover a life-changing intimacy with Jesus Christ. She began connecting with women with her classic, The Friendships of Women, and continues to understand women’s needs as mothers, singles and more recently, widows.

Brestin’s passion lies in creating in-depth Bible study materials for women. Her series, A Woman’s Journey, was nominated for a Gold Medallion Award and A Woman of Worship is one of her bestsellers. She is often a radio guest of Focus on the Family and Moody’s Midday Connection.
