What is CMC?
CMC stands for Christian Ministries Conference, the annual “main event” held each March in Akron, OH. See “Events” for further information.

Does OCEA have other conferences?
No. The Christian Ministries Conference is the only one we sponsor. Please visit the web site for Church Ministry Conventions Network, for a listing of other church ministry conventions held throughout the US.

Does OCEA belong to a denomination?
No. OCEA is independent of any denomination.

Is OCEA part of The Chapel?
No. The Chapel hosts the conference and has a representative on the Board of Directors.

Why should a church or organization become a member?

  1. Significantly reduced rate on convention registration.
  2. Receive one complimentary registration.
  3. Your membership fee helps to provide a high quality conference for
    ongoing training.
  4. Opportunities to network with other local ministries.
  5. One complimentary meal at the Annual Members' Luncheon.

How does OCEA select exhibitors?
The Board of Directors determines the criteria for exhibits. New vendors are invited to provide information about their resources to OCEA either by US mail or email.

How does OCEA select speakers?
New speakers are asked to provide an outline of their workshop(s), three references (including one from a pastor or supervisor in ministry), and a listing of their teaching credentials. Upon review of these materials and after the potential speaker has affirmed the OCEA doctrinal statement, the Board determines if the person may speak at the conference.

How can an individual or a church become more involved?
OCEA has volunteer positions available at the conference. Please email the staff at eliztesta@aol.com.
