OC Register: EPA to list North Basin site for expedited cleanup

The basin is a 5-square-mile area of Fullerton, Anaheim and Placentia known to contain contaminants. Adding it to the EPA list would help assure an “expeditious” cleanup of the groundwater basin, according to the city.

 

OC Register: Orange County Transportation Authority wants plans for ramp connecting 241 toll road and 91 Express Lanes slowed down

County transportation leaders on Monday pushed for a delay on any plans for a $180 million ramp linking the 241 toll road and 91 Freeway Express Lanes over fears the project could increase congestion on both the freeway and the tollway that runs along the middle of it.

 

Daily Pilot: Medical marijuana distribution facility gets permit in Costa Mesa

Commissioners voted unanimously to award the conditional use permit to CMX Distribution, which plans to move into 4,722 square feet of existing industrial warehouse in a business complex just east of the Santa Ana River.

OC Register: Health insurance for 1.3 million California children is in limbo

The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) typically covers children whose families who make too much for Medicaid – a federal health insurance for the poor known as Medi-Cal in California – but not enough for private insurance. CHIP also covers 370,000 pregnant women nationwide.
