Voice of OC: Lake Forest 2017 recall campaign under investigation

The 2017 recall campaign against Councilman Andrew Hamilton turned in 16,225 signatures, with 8,834 certified registered voters required to put the issue on the ballot. According to the signature verification certificate from the Registrar of Voters, 43 percent of the signatures — 7,070 — were found invalid.

The Senate has already approved a 1.9 percent pay increase for next year but the House would still need to approve it. The House version of the legislation doesn’t include a raise. The two bills must now be reconciled.
