AMEA Negotiations Update: July 1, 2022

AMEA Member,

Your AMEA negotiations team continues to fight for a fair contract, and we wanted to provide you with a quick update on the status of negotiations.

At our first bargaining session that took place on June 2 the AMEA Bargaining Team presented our initial proposal. Make no mistake, the AMEA team is fighting for fair wages and benefits, job security, and additional ways to enhance your work/life balance. The City's bargaining team took our initial proposal under consideration and indicated they would be prepared to respond at our second meeting. You can read the previous update here.

The second negotiations session took place on June 30. The City provided AMEA with its initial proposal and responded to our position. While there remains disagreement on some of the core issues, the City’s proposal conveyed a promising message. Based on the tone of the meeting and the content of the City's initial proposal we are hopeful that negotiations will proceed smoothly.

Our next meeting will take place on Thursday, July 28. We hope to continue making progress towards an MOU that respects the public service every AMEA member provides.
