Your AMEA Negotiations Team continues to fight for a fair contract, and we wanted to provide you with a quick update on the status of negotiations. The team met with the City Thursday, July 28, for our third bargaining session.

The second negotiations session took place June 30. The City provided AMEA with its initial proposal and responded to our initial proposal. While there remains disagreement on some of the core issues, the City’s proposal conveyed a promising message. Based on the tone of the meeting and the content of the City's initial proposal we are hopeful negotiations will proceed smoothly. You can read the previous update here.

At our most recent session, AMEA presented a counter proposal to the City. As you might expect, your AMEA Negotiations Team is holding the line for fair wages. We are also pushing to hold down the cost of your healthcare and make sure there are no takeaways!

Our next meeting will take place August 29. We hope to continue making progress towards an MOU that respects the public service every AMEA member provides.
