A Huntington Beach company that makes cabin racks for aircraft passengers’ luggage was forced to lay off 180 people last month because of Boeing’s problems with the 737 Max.

The estimated cost to complete California’s high-speed railway has jumped to $80 billion. However, some lawmakers are hoping to pull some of the funding away from the project and use the funding to help urban commuters in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

 

KCAL9: Newsom signs bill allowing California voters to switch party affiliation on election day

California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill Thursday that allows voters to change their political party status on election day. California voters will also be permitted to update their address at polling stations under the new law, which was approved in time for the March 3 Democratic primary. The law takes effect immediately.

Associated Press: Official says US, Taliban reach Afghanistan truce agreement

A senior U.S. official said Friday the United States and the Taliban have reached a truce agreement that will take effect “very soon” and could lead to withdrawals of American troops from Afghanistan.
