CFS Deserves Real Leadership: Demand It Now!

Dear OCEA member,

The County is in the process of selecting the next Division Director for SSA Children and Family Services. NOW IS THE TIME TO SPEAK UP!

For too long, CFS has operated under leadership that fails its workers and the families you serve. Poor communication, broken systems, and a toxic culture have become the norm. The frontline staff who hold this department together deserve better, and together, we are demanding it.

Per the job announcement, the County is looking for an innovative and transformational leader, who is capable of navigating change. We call on the County of Orange to back those words up with action and to select a leader who will actually demonstrate these qualifications.

So, we’re circulating a petition calling for exactly that:

• A PROVEN CHANGE AGENT—not another placeholder.
• A LEADER who listens, supports staff, and repairs the damage that’s been done.
• A PROACTIVE RESPONDER who acts with urgency and integrity to fix what’s broken.
