FMEF Action Alert - Aug. 3, 2021 City Council Meeting

Dear FMEF Member,

In the past weeks FMEF members have pushed back against cuts to City services. Our union has held meetings with our members, briefings for our community, and published an editorial in the Voice of OC. We are fighting this fight because we know that every Fullerton resident, every Fullerton business, and every visitor relies on the services FMEF members provide. Dedicated public servants are part of why Fullerton is such a great community in which to live, and it is why we are standing firm against further cuts.

On Tuesday, August 3rd the Fullerton City Council will meet and we need FMEF members to turnout so we can say “NO CUTS!” FMEF leaders will speak during public comment and we need FMEF members in the audience to support them! Here are the details (did we mention there will be pizza?):

  • What: Fullerton City Council Meeting – NO CUTS!
  • When: Tuesday, Aug. 3;
  • Time: Meeting Starts at 6:30 p.m. Arrive starting at 6 p.m. for Pizza/Prep!
  • Where: Fullerton City Hall (303 W. Commonwealth);
  • Who: FMEF members, their families and Fullerton Residents!
  • Food: PIZZA! FMEF will serve pizza before the meeting!

We are also looking for additional volunteers for public comment. We know that speaking at a council meeting is tough, but your words have a huge impact! Frontline public servants like FMEF members serve the community with dignity and pride. We should never be ashamed of the work we do to keep Fullerton running. If you are interested in speaking during public comment, a member of the FMEF team will help you with talking points and other support. Email vrodarte@ocea.org if you would like to volunteer!

If you can’t speak at the meeting, please come to support your fellow FMEF members. If you have any questions, please reach out to me or your FMEF workplace leader.

In Solidarity,

Veronica Rodarte
Sr. Labor Relations Representative
