OC Register: Orange County adds latest vaccination site at Christ Cathedral

Orange County leaders opened the latest on a growing roster of public mass vaccination sites Wednesday, March 10, at Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove to offer priority access to eligible residents of neighborhoods that lack health care resources.

Mayor Pro Tem Andrea Marr said the council will discuss a formal appointment in an open and transparent process. She added if they can’t come to a consensus in the 60 day time frame it will be up to residents to decide in a special election.

On Wednesday morning, a mudslide brought tree branches, dirt and other vegetation cascading onto Silverado Canyon Road. The debris flowed through some yards and damaged multiple cars, some stuck in the muck. No injuries were reported.

Note that more people died of homelessness in Orange County last year than ever. According to official records, at least 330 homeless people died in 2020, up from about 200 the year before.
