COURT MEMBERS: 6% Wage Increase, Small Dues Increase on Nov. 23 Paychecks

This Wednesday, you’ll see the 6% negotiated general wage increase reflected on your paycheck. You’ll also see a 6% increase to OCEA dues—for the average OCEA worker .79 cents per paycheck, or $20.54 annually. Like every other labor organization, OCEA must responsibly deal with the ever-increasing cost of providing representation.

Thank you for stepping up to make history with us at the polls to ensure our OCEA-endorsed candidates won their elections! For the first time since OCEA was founded in 1937, the Orange County Board of Supervisors will be comprised of a staunchly labor-friendly majority.

OCWDEA Survey: Please Take This Contract Reopener Request Survey

As the economic challenges have lingered, the Association is considering the possibility of requesting a reopener. The goal of the request would be for the District to increase the negotiated wage increases in recognition of the difficult economic times.

Earlier this week, we watched millions of Americans head to the polls to honor our fundamental right to vote—giving us as individuals a say in our democracy. With Veteran’s Day ending the week, the correlation between those who served and sacrificed for our rights and the preservation of democracy and society at home and abroad could not be more evident.
