The event included a Veterans Resource Fair, unveiling of the A-4M Skyhawk Aircraft that was relocated from the Civic Center in Santa Ana, a plaque dedication for Thomas P. Clark, Jr. on the Heroes Hall Walk of Honor and a cake honoring the 244th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Letter Carrier Michael Musick didn’t hesitate when he witnessed a terrifying accident. A vehicle ran over a fellow carrier badly damaging one leg and nearly severing the other. Musick quickly applied a tourniquet to stanch the bleeding. Because of his actions, a life was saved.

OC Register: FBI report shows surge in hate crime murders and crimes against Latinos, transgender people

Hate crimes against individuals surged to its highest level since Sept. 11, 2001, despite an overall dip in the number of hate crimes nationwide, the FBI’s annual Hate Crime Statistics released Tuesday, Nov. 12, showed.
