OC Register: Coronavirus: More than 20,000 tests have been conducted in Orange County as of April 22

The daily update noted another 662 people have been tested in the county for the coronavirus. The total number of people tested in Orange County is 20,145 – that works out to about 62.6 residents per 10,000. Orange County has more than 3.2 million people.

 

OC Register: John Wayne Airport stats for March show coronavirus effects

In March, the airport served 337,981 passengers, a decrease of 63.4% when compared to the March 2019. Last year, 923,403 passengers passed through the Orange County airport.

City officials say that food security has become an increasing concern due to the amount of people out of work because of the Coronavirus pandemic and that waiving permits will allow drive-through pantries to pop up in the city without having to wait for a permit.

“In City Council closed session the city council by a vote of 5-2, Councilmembers (Denise) Barnes and (Jose) Moreno dissenting, accepted the immediate resignation of the city manager,” City Attorney Rob Fabela said late Tuesday night.

Santa Ana City Council members on the same night moved to appeal their original vote approving the much-contested apartment project at 2525 N. Main St., and authorized adding apartments to the controversial planned tower at One Broadway Plaza.
