Voice of OC: Tim Shaw reappointed to OC Board of Education two months after resignation

It's musical chairs political style. Board of Ed member Tim Shaw resigned his seat to avoid a conflict while also serving as a La Habra City Council member. He was reappointed this week after changing his mind and giving up his City Council seat. Shaw previously ran for the Board of Supervisors but was defeated by Doug Chaffee in 2018.

With 55 years of history, Vans has impacted the skateboarding, music and pop culture scenes with its unique waffle soles and endless custom designs. Recently the brand has expanded its aims to also strive to encourage creative expression among local communities and throughout the world.

Four workshops were held in 2021, covering topics such as “practical roles and responsibilities” and “communication and relationships.” Nine workshops are planned for 2022; the first is scheduled for Feb. 4.

OC Register: After theft and wild police chase, Orange County firefighters get their truck back

A man led police on a chase over freeways and side streets through multiple Orange County cities just after he took the vehicle at around 1:40 a.m., according to video footage. The vehicle is only slightly worse for wear.

OC Register: LAX lounge workers vote to strike over wage dispute

The LAX lounge employees plan to gather on the upper departure level of Terminal 4 early Wednesday, Dec. 22 for an all-day picket, supported by hundreds of other food workers who are employed by a half-dozen other airport concessions companies at LAX.

KTLA: California sues Walmart over disposal of hazardous waste in landfills

The attorney general’s office settled a previous similar lawsuit in 2010 in which Walmart, which operates more than 300 stores in California, paid $25 million and agreed to stop the dumping into local landfills that are not equipped to contain the hazardous products.
