Meet your Social Worker Labor Management Committee members!

Dear OCEA member,

Did you know CFS has a new Labor Management Committee dedicated to Social Workers?

An LMC is a committee of workplace leaders who bring your concerns to management. The LMC process is a collaborative partnership between OCEA members, OCEA labor relations staff and CFS management to achieve division-wide goals, propose improvements to workplace processes, and resolve broad workplace issues.

A lengthy and hard-fought social worker campaign has resulted in this new LMC, which has replaced the outdated Caseload Management Forum.

Recruitment for member participants in each division is now complete. Thank you to everyone who applied!

Your LMC representatives include: SSSS Stefanie Braum; SSW Breeze Jeffries; SSSS Susan Chisholm; SSW Shelia Mecado; SSSS Julie Percer; SSW Amy Fontenot; SSSS Donny Simpson; SSW Vickie Vonnahme; and SWII Jonathan Garcia. Collectively, this group has over 171 years of County experience!

The Social Worker LMC is scheduled to meet Monthly, beginning Oct. 18, 2023. We will be discussing recruitment, specifically training and support. Please let us know if you have any suggestions for improvement related to this topic or any other global CFS items you would like addressed in this new platform. You can reach out to any of your LMC representatives or OCEA Labor Relations Representative, Kerensa Schupmann, at kschupmann@ocea.org.

Thank you for your continued dedication to the profession of social work, the residents of Orange County, and to your Union.

In Solidarity,

OCEA
