COVID-19 Message to AMEA Members

Dear AMEA member,

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented us with challenges none of us ever expected to face. Be assured that each day your AMEA Board of Directors and Officers are working diligently to ensure that you and your families are both safe and secure.

The City has taken several workplace-related actions and documents reflecting those actions have been posted on the City’s website. However, they’re somewhat difficult to locate, so we have attached to this email the following City postings:

  1. COVID-19 Leave and Telecommuting Policies Memo from Linda Andal
  2. COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions for Employees
  3. COVID-19 Telecommuting Guidelines
  4. Temporary Telecommuting Assignment Policy and Attachment
  5. Temporary Paid Sick Leave Program
  6. Department of Labor Bulletin regarding Employee Rights and Families First Legislation

We have been informed that the attached Temporary Paid Sick Leave Program is in the process of being revised. The City anticipates issuing a revised policy sometime this week. As soon as we receive a copy of the revised policy, we will forward it to you.

If you have any questions, please contact any of our AMEA labor representatives, Michelle Rubio (mrubio@ocea.org), Veronica Rodarte (vrodarte@ocea.org), or Bridgette Harris (bharris@ocea.org), or of course any of us.

Every AMEA member is experiencing unprecedented levels of fear, uncertainty, and unique personal and workplace issues. We’re doing our very best to help all of us to get through this. Stay safe, support each other, and we’ll come out the other side stronger and better.

Your AMEA Executive Board
