FMEF Tentative Agreement Reached!

Dear FMEF member,

Your FMEF negotiations team is happy to announce we have reached a tentative agreement with the City! As you recall, our 2021 contract included raises for the first time since 2015. This contract builds on those raises, providing FMEF members and their families with the best contract we’ve seen in years.

This four-year agreement provides you, and every other FMEF-represented worker, with the long overdue wage increases you and your co-workers deserve. Specifically, your negotiations team negotiated the following wage increases: an 8% increase effective the first full pay period after adoption by the City Council; a 4% increase in 2024; a 4% increase in 2025; and a 3% increase in 2026—for a total of 19% in wage enhancements!

A summary of the tentative agreement can be viewed here.

Negotiations can be challenging, and it’s not always clear how certain moments in time fit into the bigger picture. Last year, many of you attended City Council meetings each week to advocate for a fair raise. Those efforts had a lasting impact and are reflected in the current tentative agreement.

Together we are making positive change in the City of Fullerton. In the past, the City of old had told the Union, “How dare you ask for a raise!” Those times are gone and FMEF is in a strong position to continue to make improvements for you and your co-workers.

A ratification vote will be held 3:30-6 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at the Fullerton Community Center, Osborn Room. Your FMEF Bargaining Team unanimously recommends you vote “YES.” Please join us to cast your vote and enjoy some food with us.

In Solidarity,

FMEF
