Sanitation District Negotiations Update: Voting is now open!

OCEA Member,

Voting is now open to ratify the Tentative Agreement. Please cast your vote to ACCEPT or REJECT the Tentative Agreement HERE. Voting will be open from 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 5 until 5 p.m. Thursday, July 7 via SurveyMonkey. You can only vote one time, and once your vote is cast you cannot change it. Please remember: ONLY MEMBERS CAN VOTE.

By voting YES, you are choosing to accept the terms we presented in the tentative agreement. If the tentative agreement is ratified by the membership, OCEA will present the ratified agreement to the OC San Board of Directors for adoption. Once the OC San Board adopts the tentative agreement, you will receive your increases effective the first pay period in July.

By voting NO, you are choosing to reject the terms we presented in the tentative agreement. If the tentative agreement is rejected, we will have to go back to the table to continue to negotiate. If we do not come to an agreement, we may end up at impasse. If a new tentative agreement is not reached and impasse is declared, the District has the ability to impose their last, best, and final offer for one year. That means the terms of their last, best, and final offer (which could potentially be less than the current offer) would be final.

Your Bargaining Team has worked for months, meeting with the District and the other unions to get the best deal possible for OC Sanitation members. At this time, your Bargaining Team believes this is the best that the District will offer and recommend a YES vote.
