Sen. Tom Umberg invites OCEA members to Legislative Briefing

Dear OCEA member,

Please join State Senator Tom Umberg, member of the State Elections Committee, for a special Legislative Briefing 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16. Please see the flyer below for call-in information or click here.

On the first day of the current legislative session, Sen. Umberg introduced a slate of bills focusing on free and fair elections including protections for voters and poll workers. OCEA General Manager Charles Barfield commented in the senator's press release thanking him for being a leader in protecting public workers when they do the important work of conducting our elections. You can read the senator's press release, including information on the legislation, here

Sen. Umberg is a retired U.S. Army Colonel and three-term state legislator representing central Orange County. He served as a federal prosecutor and Deputy Drug Czar under the Clinton Administration. His military record includes leading the U.S. military effort to fight corruption in the Afghan Army and Police, for which he was awarded a Bronze Star for Meritorious Service in a Combat Zone. Sen. Umberg has been a strong ally of working families and OCEA throughout his career and looks forward to the participation of OCEA members in his virtual event Dec. 16.
