Virtual Membership Meeting May 28: Negotiations & Budget Updates

Dear OCEA member,

As you may recall, your last OCEA-negotiated contract resulted in the highest wage increase of any non-safety County bargaining unit when it was ratified (13% total—4.75% in June 2023; 4.25% in 2024; and 4% in June 2025). Our negotiations team was also able to secure multiple other improvements and benefit enhancements that have benefited thousands of OCEA members.

Since we are in the last year of our contract, OCEA is preparing now for 2026 negotiations.

Although we will face fiscal challenges because of limitations on government revenue and budget reductions, we are determined to confidently BUILD ON OUR STRENGTH because we know that when the County invests in its frontline workers, the community ultimately benefits. At the same time, organizations opposing workers continue to challenge your rights and benefits. Recent events in nearby counties highlight the importance of solidarity now as a key strategy.

The political landscape may be uncertain, but our resolve isn't. By strengthening our workplace relationships and expanding our active membership, we will create a powerful voice that can't be ignored at the negotiations table.

To provide an update on the latest developments for County workers, we will hold two Virtual Membership Meetings, at Noon and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 28.

Check home email for Virtual Meeting Zoom details.

We’ll see you May 28!

In Solidarity,

Team OCEA
