Your Raise Starts Here--Take the Court Negotiations Survey Today!
Dear OCEA member,
Superior Court negotiations will begin in a few short months. Negotiating a successor Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is the MOST important work we do as your union. This is not only OCEA’s most critical responsibility—it’s a responsibility we share together. Negotiations are where we come together as Court workers to fight for the things that matter most at work—wages, benefits, leave and holidays, work schedules, and so much more. These are the reasons we stand together in our union.
If you’re new to public service or to working with a union, here’s how it works: through the union we have the collective power to negotiate as equals with Court Executive Management and Judicial Leadership, and through the union we stand together to secure fair wages, benefits, and working conditions. Learn more about the process here!
The initial step in this process involves completing the Negotiations Survey. This is YOUR CHANCE to make sure your voice and priorities are heard. This survey is a vehicle for you and your co-workers to express your opinions on negotiations topics and positions.
While wage increases are always a priority, it is essential to convey to Court Executives how strongly OCEA members feel about various issues and what you consider fair. The position is reinforced when we can report that numerous OCEA members have completed the survey and request further action.
During the last MOU negotiations, we secured a wage package higher than neighboring counties and avoided concessions. We achieved this through our union's unity and readiness to act. Let's unite again to fight for what is fair.
In Solidarity,
Team OCEA
