June 28, 2021

OCEA members and labor relations representatives met with Court management Friday, June 25, to discuss Presiding Judge Erick Larsh’s “Administrative Order 20/16 Required Safety Measures and Face Coverings in Court.” We strongly urged the Court to balance what it has the power to do under the recently adopted Cal/OSHA update, with what it should do in the best interests of OCEA members. We emphasized the unfairness of holding workers to one set of standards while at the same time the vaccination status of the general public entering Justice Centers is simply “assumed."
