Mediated Tentative Agreement--Membership Meeting Schedule

Last week the OC Superior Court and OCEA retained a mediator from the State Mediation and Conciliation Services (SMCS).

As you know, yesterday OCEA and the Court brought in a mediator from the State Mediation and Conciliation Service in an attempt to help the parties reach an agreement on a new contract. The mediator provided a neutral assessment of each party’s positions and met with the parties both together and separately to try to bring us closer to an agreement.

For two months the OCEA Bargaining team has met with Court management eleven times to negotiate a contract for OCEA members. At each of these meetings your bargaining team has passionately communicated the position of OCEA members throughout the Court system. It is time to be treated fairly, and it is time for a meaningful wage enhancement!

On Friday the OCEA bargaining team again met with the Superior Court. As you recall, at our last meeting we were able to make significant progress on classification specific items. At this meeting we intended to continue our ongoing discussion regarding wages.
